The Night Choir
Mallowe has spent her life in silence.
Mallowe has spent her life in silence.
Born in the soot-choked slums, she survives by keeping her head down, her voice hidden, and her strange curse secret: she sees sound as color, and when she sings the wrong notes, people bleed.
When one forbidden lullaby kills a Tax Collector in the street, the Academy does not sentence her to death.
It claims her.
Dragged into the Veiled Eye, Mallowe is bound, muzzled, and marked as a battery—raw fuel for an institution built on control, sanctioned harmony, and the suffering of those too powerless to refuse. But the deeper she is taken into its black stone wards, the more she begins to hear the truth buried in the foundations: the dead are still singing, and they need her to answer.
Because the Academy’s perfect music is a lie.
And Mallowe’s broken voice may be the one thing capable of bringing the whole system down.
The Night Choir is a dark academy fantasy of forbidden sound, living prisons, weaponized silence, and a girl whose voice was never meant to survive the truth.
